HAPI Launches New Website DesignJuly 14, 2006 - HAPI is excited to announce our new user-centered website. The newly designed site went "live" on July 14, 2006. In addition to a fresh new look, HAPI has added some additional functionality including a Quick Search box that allows users to search HAPI's database from every page. For those interested in creating more complex queries, HAPI has implemented Boolean searching. New pages include a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, Criteria for Inclusion in HAPI, a page for Our Partners, and a Tools for Librarians page. We've also updated our Help pages to make them easier to navigate and understand. Additionally, the text of the website is now available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Read "HAPI Goes Polyglot" to learn more. But, not everything has changed. We have kept a number of the functionalities and services that our users rely on. You can still build a personalized bibliography (now called the Marked List) to email, print, or download citations to RefWorks or EndNote. HAPI continues to offer document delivery services for a marginal fee, as well as the ability to purchase the print or CD-rom versions of HAPI. HAPI's new design and functionalities are based on numerous usability tests that we've conducted to better understand our users' needs and behaviors. We are always open to new ideas and feedback about the site. Send us an email at petro@international.ucla.edu with your thoughts. |
